Why this is different

Most economic impact reports are based on surveys. This one is not.

The standard approach samples: a consultant surveys a subset of attendees over a few nights and extrapolates to the whole season, months after the events are over.

revolution.fan collects verified data from every event: GPS check-ins at the door, real ticket purchases, and fan home locations. Tourist vs. local is calculated precisely, not estimated from a small sample. Every report on this page reflects what actually happened, and you can run it again tomorrow with updated numbers.

How the report is calculated

01
Direct Revenue
Ticket sales and ancillary spend captured from verified fan check-ins and purchases on the platform, actual transactions, not estimates.
02
Multiplier Effect
Direct revenue flows to venue suppliers, suppliers pay workers, workers spend locally. Conservative Type II multipliers of 1.3× (indirect) and 1.5× (induced) model each layer. These are fixed platform assumptions, not region-specific licensed multipliers.
03
Tourism Attribution
Fans traveling more than 50 miles are counted as tourists. Their $185 estimated daily spend covers lodging, food, and attractions beyond the ticket.
04
The Headline Number
Total economic output is what you present to city councils and funding bodies: the full dollar value live music returns to the regional economy.
